Los Angeles VegWeek 2010!

Compassion Over Killing is launching Los Angeles VegWeek tomorrow, July 11, with a kick-off party! There will be incredible food provided by Clara's Cakes (Clara is one of my favorite people in the world), Rawsheed's Dinner Club, Chef Tigre, Sun Power Natural Cafe, Veggie Grill, and Perfected Foods. The special guests will include Assemblymembers Pedro Nava and Ted Lieu, celebrity vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli, who recently won an episode of Food Network's Cupcake Wars, and Compassion Over Killing's Executive Director, Erica Meier.

In honor of Los Angeles VegWeek, Assemblymembers Nava and Lieu, as well as Congressman Brad Sherman, have taken a vow of vegetarianism for the entire week! Thank you, gentlemen, for setting an excellent example!

Join the kick-off party tomorrow, July 11, from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Arjay Plaza, 23215 Hawthorne Blvd., Torrance, CA 90505.

Other excellent events scheduled for Los Angeles VegWeek are:

July 14: Dinner at Veggie Grill (8000 W. Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA) from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

July 15: Dinner at Pizza Cookery (6209 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Woodland Hills, CA 91367) from 7:30-9:30 p.m. to celebrate new vegan menu items.

July 17: Vegan Hot Dog Feed-in on the Santa Monica Pier from noon until 1:00 p.m.

Make sure to check the Los Angeles VegWeek website for updates and specials!
