Just a quick post about my local Trader Joe's...I was stocking up on baked tofu yesterday and noticed that the packages of raw pancetta were right next to the baked tofu. On the shelf below were the faux deli meats where someone had kindly stuck a few packages of real deli meat instead of returning them to their rightful home. Anyway, I was thinking about mentioning this to a store employee, even though I tend to be a little shy about these things, when a store employee came up and asked if I was finding everything easily (our store is newly reorganized). I explained what I'd noticed and he said it'd be handled that night. :)
On another note, I'm having lunch at Follow Your Heart both today AND tomorrow! I'm still too shy to take photos, but I'll report back on my culinary adventures!

Hugger Food!
Some of you may already know my moniker, as I've been commenting and e-mailing a few of you for a year or so now. I was the lucky winner of Amey's Trader Joe's contest last December. She sent me an amazing haul of vegan goodies!
I studied abroad in Toulouse, France years ago with Your Vegan Mom and was fortunate enough to have lunch with her and her lovely family at Vinh Loi Tofu in June. I hope to share another amazing vegan meal with them soon!
Getting in touch with Your Vegan Mom was a result of a chance "meeting" in the comments section of the To Live and Eat in L.A. blog. To Live and Eat in L.A. was a dream come true for me, as I'd been looking for L.A. area vegans and vegan blogs for ages. She's reviewed many of my favorite restaurants and has opened my eyes to others I hadn't yet tried.
So, why begin my blogging journey today? Because today is my 9th anniversary of vegetarianism. Over the years, I'd been vegan off and on until my New Year's resolution of 2006 to become and stay vegan. I had been dairy free for 5 years by then and had only eaten eggs occasionally in baked goods, but I wanted to make it official. I absolutely intend to be vegan for the rest of my life. :)
Thank you for being such an inspiring, creative, warm vegan community and thank you for reading! I hope to post again this week with reviews of some of the incredible vegan goodies that arrived yesterday from Vegan Essentials.
EDIT: This post was supposed to be dated October 10, 2007, which is my actual veg anniversary...
