Hell's Kitchen
On tonight's episode of Hell's Kitchen, Chef Ramsay tested the chefs' palates with three dishes: chicken parmesan, beef stew, and sausage ravioli. What was missing from each dish? The animals! Each dish was made with soy-based meat and NONE of the chefs were able to identify the missing ingredient. Petrozza said the ravioli filling was "beautiful," "awesome," and "wonderful, wonderful, wonderful." Ben said they "must've gone to a damn good vegetarian store or something cuz, I mean, you know, it tasted like meat." Score one for the vegetarian meat substitutes. :)

That was so funny! I couldn't stop laughing!!
I saw that too! My first thought was, where did he get that soy meat, cuz everything I've tried tastes awful!
DH and I saw that show too! I was so thrilled! I wonder too, which brand he was using. Chalk one up for us vegans!!!
must download this episode!
Despite the production company's efforts, I could tell that the fake beef was Morningstar Farms and the fake sausage was Gimme Lean. I don't think I got a good enough look at the faux chicken packaging. I'm sure Chef Ramsay and the producers had no idea they'd be pleasing the vegan community with that segment of the show. Hooray for accidental vegan awareness!
That's awesome! I hope zillions of omnivores were watching.
That's rad!
I laughed my butt off for this. There was no way any of them was going to tell the difference between Gimmelean and meat sausage in those raviolis. Kudos to all those manufacturers!
Vinyasa is great! That's my main style I practice, with Kundalini a few times a week for the more mental/spiritual side.
When I'm finished with my library degree I hope to get certified so I can teach classes too!
This post makes me soooo happy! I used to watch that show all the time, too.
Awesome!
That's so cool! But what was Ramsay's reaction to their inability to taste the difference...?
I saw that and loved it!
I got to watch that episode today - my parents had it taped! I was sooo loud and obnoxious when it got to the fake meat part; I couldn't help how happy it made me!
