I Am Terrific

The new Cafe Gratitude LA menu introduced two kelp noodle dishes to the raw section. I Am Terrific is a raw Pad Thai with kelp noodles, red bell peppers, carrots, shredded kale, cilantro, basil, mint and scallions topped with crumbled teriyaki almonds and sunflower sprouts (description from the menu; I ordered mine without scallions). This dish is a game-changer for me; light kelp noodles tossed with what I believe is the Thai almond sauce, one of my favorite CGLA sauces. It has all my favorite flavors from I Am Fortified, but without the heaviness of the quinoa, so it's a fantastic choice for when I'm not quite as hungry.

I love reading about all the menu items, helps me decide what to get next time I'm at the restaurant. One question though: I checked out the new menu and didn't see the potatoes with that amazing cheezy sauce (I think it was called "I am grounded") Is this no longer on the menu?!?

Hi Tamar! Thank you for reading and for the question. I Am Grounded is not featured on the new menu (I am holding out hope and belief that it will return in the spring), but it's been replaced with a sister dish called I Am Comforted, which I will likely feature tomorrow. I Am Comforted is roasted sweet potatoes with a choice of the amazing chipotle cashew cheese sauce or a tamarind sauce. I ordered it with the chipotle cashew cheese sauce and it was wonderful! I strongly suggest trying I Am Comforted when you're next at CGLA and I think you will love it!
